We’d all love to travel back in time to when our beloved inner west home was first built. This aerial from 1925 can offer just that.
The main road dividing the image vertically is Somerville Road, no overpass bridge either back then, and the football field to its right is on Williamstown Road, behind the previous Yarraville West Primary School.
Bottom left is the Queensville Estate (Kingsville) – which is also available to purchase – the Queensville Estate started in the 1880s so is further along than the lower right which includes Severn & Tuppins edging the yet to be established Cruickshank Park. Cruickshank Park was still active as queries until 1854, hence the slower development around it.
A beautiful historic talking point and exploration piece for any home that loves our inner west area.
If would like the text on this image to read something else, just let us know. Can be your address, also Kingsville or Seddon depending on your homes location.
