1924 Yarraville Auction Plan – The Wembley Estate (Part A)

from A$100.00

Historical 1924 Yarraville Auction Plan – The Wembley Estate (Part A)

This is designed to be stand-alone if you just want to see your original street or can be paired up with Part B of the estate to make an awesome Estate set.

The Wembley Park Estate and Wembley Estate were amongst a number of 1920s subdivisions of small residential allotments made by local developers for working people. The Wembley Park Estate, covering the area south of Somerville Road and west of Williamstown Road was subdivided by William Angliss. By 1925 “quite a number” of houses and a row of shops had been built, including an Angliss butcher’s shop on the corner of Williamstown Road and Francis Street.

Features subdivision information including the streets of Roberts St, Ballard St, Angliss St, Urwin St, Stooke St, Stanger St, Richards, St, Kidman St, Sanderson St and Somerville Road. Also displays map and details of the auctioneers.

It is not clear whether the pocket east of Roberts Street and south of Francis Street was actually part of the Wembley Park Estate, although they are still today noted as Wembley because of Wembley Ave.
