Bradmill Yarraville Factory Suburban Icon Poster

from A$50.00

You’ve probably seen the iconic tower and boiler building of Bradmill as you drive over the West Gate. Bradmill was established in 1927 in Yarraville, mainly making workwear fabrics, such as overalls and uniforms.

In 1945 the company began producing denim, which led to focusing on supplying major brands like Lee and Levi’s with fabrics for decades. In the early 1990s Bradmill became the largest exporter of cotton textiles in Australia under the name ‘Bradmill Undare Group’. In 1998 the factory won an ‘Exporter of the Year’ award. Despite its profitability, poor managerial decisions against market pressure led to the announcement in 2001 that the factory would close. In 2002 the Yarraville site began shutting down. By 2005 less than 100 workers remained at Bradmill’s Yarraville factory. By 2006 the site had shut down completely and been abandoned.

The historic Bradmill site is now being reborn as a dynamic neighbourhood, offering a new chapter in Yarraville’s history, with a blend of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.

Now you can own a print of this inner-west icon, capturing a piece of Yarraville's industrial heritage.

This artwork is available in A0, A1, A2, A3, A4. Professional framing is available on A0, A1 and A2 sizes via pick up only.
